August till December - judging, competitions, seminars
I really need a lot of motivation to update my website.
Lazy I am.
Here is some information from August till December.
In August started one of the longest trips in my life. Went by car to Finland and stayed there for one month. Driving little bit more then 7500 km, passing through 8 countries, competing, giving seminars and judging. From Zagreb I went to Switzerland to Mia Laamanen's place and we went together to Finland. Two of us and seven dogs in the car. It was really long trip to spend so much time with somebody in the car but I didn't regret :). Mia was good company and experienced traveler and driver especially for those destinations :). Competing there was good as always. Tip and Gunga had good results but Gunga did best results in „wrong“ courses so she didn't get any exam in A1 to go to A2.
Tip became Finnish champion and it is his first champion title.
But after competitions we had a lot of seminars and like every year I enjoyed a lot. Seeing people from last years and meeting new was just something what always charge my batteries. I really like to train with people who are so much into agility and trying to do all the best. Last days in Finland were reserved for judging (not my favorite part of agility) but it was so fun to see all that people trying to solve courses on so many different ways. I had a great time in Finland. Thank you everybody who came for training, it was really pleasure to train with all of you, I really enjoyed. Special Kiitos to Mia Laamanen and Saija Mustonen who organized all this and taking care about me and my dogs. We enjoyed staying at your place. It was time to go back to Switzerland first and then home. Trip to Switzerland went fast and smooth. After spending one night in Switzerland it was time to drive home to Croatia. But everything can't be perfect until the end so my car needed to stop in the middle of the highway in Austria. Car full of things and two dogs is just something you wish to be broken.
That was not the most interesting part; when I came to service, trying to get some help they said „SORRY BUT NOTHING BEFORE MONDAY“ and it was just Friday 10:00 a.m. Great, try to find hotel close to service which will take two dogs, but this time I had luck. We were trying to take the best from that forced vacation so we were hiking and jogging a lot. Monday came and finally we went home.
From the trip I went directly to my new house to see how all things are going but that was one of the biggest mistakes. They almost didn't do anything and they supposed to be finished when I come back.
Time to train and to prepare for WC in Liberec in Czech. It was not that much time but also it was not that necessary because both of us (Tip and me) have experience :) That was one of the most relaxing WC ever. Everything went so smoothly and without long ceremonies and pressure. One of the things I liked the most was that we were allowed to play with the dogs in pre ring. Sounds so normal but I don't remember last time when we were able to do that. We had to great jumping runs; 2nd place in team jumping and 6th place in individual jumping. Agility runs were not at our side this time. In both of them (team and individual) we were disk. After WC it was time to focus on the house and things which are necessary to move. After moving and spending one week in the house time for new long trip.
Seminars in Belgium, competition in Luxembourg and on the way back seminar in Czech made again one long trip. This time it was 27 days, 5000 km in the car, visiting 3 countries and driving through 8. Seminars in Belgium were interesting and fun. Most of people I saw for the first time. Their type of handling is running for safe (which is totally opposite of mine) so I needed to push them over their limits and I think I managed to do that :)
After two weeks spending in Belgium we went to caravan trip to Luxembourg and after that competition. It was my first time driving car and caravan so I was very proud on myself manage to do that :). What to say about competition in Luxembourg; all the best like always. Great people, great organisation. I am just looking forward for WC there. After competition back to Belgium and then home.
Thank you Michael Van Waegevelde for organizing seminars. It was his first time and he did it great. Thank you also Nele Stevens for renting the place. All of them are so young and already capable to do a lot of work about not so easy things in organizing seminars. I enjoyed.
On the way back home it was one more stop. It was seminar in Czech. Czech who is really going to the top in agility. Great place in the middle of the forest. Big riding hall and really good dogs and handlers. That two days of seminar just flew away.
Thank you Petra Koutna and Martina Wasserbauerova for inviting me and all the organisation.
And after long trip back home. Now time to fix the house and to wait January 2013. To go for seminar in Japan. Looking forward for that.

February till July - Judging, competitions and seminars
And finally some news are here, after I decided to move my ass and write something
After Japan it was time for seminars in Europe.
Most of them were in Nordic countries and I started with Norway in March, continuing in Denmark in April, second year in a row, together with Jenny Damm organized by Winnie Birkenfeldt.
Then it became time for some judging.
In May I was judging one round of Slovenian qualifications. It was nice to judge there, all top level dogs and handlers, not only from Slovenia, also from Europe were there.
After that I went to Czech Republic for three days of judging and two days of seminar. It was BCCCZ (Border collie czech championship) with a lot of border collies, maybe to much for my taste :). Competition was Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Monday and Tuesday were reserved for seminar.
In June I went for the first time in Estonia for judging and seminar and I was quite surprised (positive of course) with place and the organization were competition was held. Great weather and place in the middle of sport center made that competition something to remember. Next day it was time for seminar but heavy rain didn't let as to be outside, but luckily we had alternative to move to private hall from one of the top handlers in Estonia and one of the organizers (Marje Piiroja).
In July it was time for summer camp at Jenny's place and as every year I enjoyed there with great people and really nice weather. We had also some time for herding which is really rear that I can do with Tip, so he and I enjoyed in some other activities.
In all that time I started to compete with Gunga and also qualified with Tip for WC in Liberec.
After seminars and judging it was time for EO in Sweden where I was pleased how my dogs perform there.
It was Gunga's first big competition and quite hard courses for such a young dog, but she did her best in that age and made me very happy. Tip was running really nice and qualified for the final in the first round. In the final I didn't do the best choice of handling and we finished on 7th place. Enough to be satisfied :).
That EO was one of the best, organization and place were great and we had luck with a weather.

Japan
This year in January, like last year Jenny Damm and I had seminar in Japan.
This time we had six days of seminar (three seminars) at Nagata Dog School.
I started my trip from Zagreb together with Ruka (border collie from Japan who came at my place for mating with Tip).
I was quite nervous because she needed to be in the crate more than 20 hour.
Trip from Zagreb didn't start well.
When board was completed we needed to wait until they will unfreeze the plane. After 20 minutes we started our trip. Everything was good for first 45 minutes and then we could hear captain speaking:”unfortunately we need to go back to Zagreb airport because door sensor is showing that something is wrong with the door”. When we came back there they checked the door and they were not closed properly :)
We started again and this time no problem.
I came in Copenhagen and immediately went to information desk to ask if somebody will give water to Ruka and maybe walk her. Lady on the information desk was really nice and brought me Ruka and said that I can have her with me until plane will start to Tokyo; I was totally shocked (positive of course).
We met with Jenny there and after 3 hours of waiting it was time to go and start long way to Tokyo.
I had some difficulties with space and knee but I survived.
On the airport in Tokyo we took Ruka and after all procedure she was finally free to go out from the crate.
Atsuko and Takumi were waiting for us there and drove us to their place and made some lunch.
Afternoon was free so we had time to go for a walk with some of their dogs.
Next days were reserved for seminars and it was a lot of people from last year who came again.
In between we had one free day and we spent it in Japanese spa and some shopping. For me it was quite hard to find something because they wear small shoes, so the biggest number was 44, no shopping for me there :)
Next day it was time for seminar again and after that dinner in the restaurant. During the dinner I had to much Sake so next morning was little bit hard, but when seminar start I almost forgot my headache :)
All this days went to fast.
It was great six days of seminar in Japan. Great handlers and great dogs, physically capable to run very fast and a lot. I enjoyed every day and would do it again and again without any thoughts.
Thank you Atsuko Nagata, Takumi Nagata, Toshiki Nakanoya, Noriko for great organisation and work. Thank you all translators Shunsuke Sogabe, Miki Ohi, Reggie Mama but most of all thank you all participants for coming and working hard. You were really good. It was pleasure to work with you all.
See you and good luck!!!!

Two days after I came back we had competition; first round of Croatian winter cup. Without no training Tip did a nice job there. 1st place in jumping with a far best time from all dogs
Next day I went to take schnauzer puppy who will be at my place and I will train him for kid who will need some help from dogs side. Small white schnauzer with great character and cute look, hard not to spoiled him :) |
