Gunga

Born on September 15th 2010 Gunga comes from the Finnish Tammikallion Kennel.
During my recent seminar in Finland, I went to see Malinois puppies that were four weeks old. As soon as I entered the room with the eleven puppies, one puppy ran out and sat down right in front of me. It was love at first sight. When I looked back at her and the other puppies - I could tell she was the smallest and, even for that early puppy stage, much more open to new people and new situations than other puppies.
Although I had not yet planned to get a new dog I asked the owners to put a collar on her and send me pictures and videos as Gunga progresses. Each week I received reports of Gunga’s progress and she was evolving just as I’d hoped and expected. She was the leader of the pack, open to people with a strong prey drive.
As she reached eight weeks, I went back to Finland to get Gunga that had already been placed with temporary “foster parents” awaiting trip to Croatia.
During my stay in Finland and the flight to Croatia, small Gunga amazed me with her reactions to each new situation, showing no fear of anything.
She is still very, very small and at her nine weeks of age weighs only five kilos.
For now, Gunga seems to be the type of Malinois that I had been looking for a long time; a true Malinois character while being physically small - I hope she progresses that way in the future.
